Hurricane Isaac 2012

Location: Southeastern United States, Gulf Coast

Description: Hurricane Isaac was a slow-moving Category 1 hurricane that caused severe damage in the Caribbean and along the northern Gulf Coast of the United States with estimated damages around $2 billion. Preliminary estimates showed that Isaac had damaged or destroyed 4,500 poles and 2,000 transformers. The storm also knocked 95 transmission lines out of service along with 144 substations.   Crew members from MYR Group’s L.E. Myers Co. and Harlan Electric subsidiaries were mobilized to help restore power along the gulf coast.
