Q: What is a manager of fleet administration and why is it important to your department?

My primary responsibilities are overseeing the direction of the fleet department’s purchasing operations and the administrative processes. This includes managing vendor relationships with equipment and vehicle manufacturers, equipment rental companies, and parts and national accounts. I also compose fleets monthly and prepare quarterly financial reports. It’s very important for our department to have a focus on managing costs.

Q: What does a typical day on the job look like for you?

My typical day is spent working with my team. I support our fleet administration and management nationwide with the day-to-day obstacles. When I am not putting together reports and analyzing fleet data, my time is spent troubleshooting, resolving issues, and providing guidance.

Q: What do you love most about your job?

I enjoy the variety of tasks and challenges that my job brings. I really could not do it without the people around me. We have a fantastic, hard-working team with a strong mentality that ensures everyone is working together to their best abilities.

Q: How is the fleet department essential to the day-to-day operations of the company?

In the MYR Group fleet department, we have over 10,000 active pieces of equipment nationwide. Fleet has a critical role in managing the company assets to ensure they are safe, coordinating the equipment for each job, and supporting operations.
