In the wake of a tornado that touched down in the Midwest, a local utility called on L.E. Myers for storm damage restoration. The overall scope of this project included emergency cleanup and site securing of the felled 765kV structure, multiple span wire repairs due to wind debris damage, and the installation of a new 765kV structure and conductor.
L.E. Myers executed the construction with speed and efficiency, working 12-hour days and through some weekends to get the job done. At one point while the crews were waiting on foundations to be completed, they restored about 18 tornado-damaged wire sections on another line segment, also near the damaged 765kV line.
