Working through all kinds of weather, Sturgeon Electric crews installed more than 11 million feet of three-phase triple-bundle conductor through 844 steel tower structures along 235 miles from the newly constructed Robinson Summit Substation near Ely to the Harry Allen Substation north of Las Vegas.
The first phase of the Southwest Intertie Project, also known as SWIP, ON Line was designed to enable the development of numerous renewable energy projects throughout Nevada, enhance overall energy-sharing efficiencies for Nevada Energy’s power generation resources, and connect Nevada Energy’s two main service areas for the first time.
