CSI Electrical Contractors, Inc. (CSI) provided electrical construction services for the University of California Riverside School of Medicine Education Building II, a new 90,000 square-foot home for the medical school. Powered by a 200kW rooftop solar array, the building will soon be LEED Platinum certified.
CSI relocated a large existing electrical yard, installed high voltage four-way switches, 12-kV high voltage circuits, a 2.5MW generator, a 75kV and 1500kVA transformer, a 500kW generator and a 12kV switchgear substation. They provided lighting and general power throughout the building, which included a standard and emergency electrical room on level 1 and additional electric rooms on each floor of the five-story building.
ENR California recognized the project with the Excellence in Sustainability and Award of Merit in Higher Education and Research in 2024.
